The Marblehead School Committee will discuss the creation of a superintendent search committee at its meeting on Thursday, 7:30 p.m., in the library at Marblehead High School, 2 Humphrey St. The School Committee will seek a top educator to replace Greg Maass, who announced plans to resign on June 30. In his resignation letter, Maass called the culture within the majority of the School Committee “a transactional and somewhat fractured environment.” Maass, who was in his second year of a three-year contract, formerly served as superintendent of schools in Green Bay, Wis. Since 2005, Marblehead has hired five superintendents to lead its schools.
