The search committee for the new school superintendent is set to begin interviewing applicants for the job this week. About 13 people so far have applied for the position, according to Wendy Reed, chairwoman of the School Committee and the search committee. The interview process is expected to take a few weeks, after which the search committee will recommend finalists to the School Committee. The current superintendent, Richard Langlois, is resigning at the end of June to become school superintendent in Marlborough. The School Committee on March 14 named the 11-person search committee, which comprises the five School Committee members, four school staff members, a parent representative, and a resident representative. At its meeting last Thursday, the search committee was set to develop a desired profile of the next superintendent based in part on input from the community.
