Mayor DeMaria seeks fourth term

Mayor Carlo DeMaria Jr. recently made official his plan to seek a fourth term in office. A former five-term alderman at large and two-term Ward 2 common councilor, DeMaria was first elected in 2007 and has been reelected twice. “Serving my neighbors and family as mayor has been the greatest honor of my life,” DeMaria said in a recent prepared statement. “We have made historic progress since coming into office, but the work isn’t done. The foundation has been laid for a prosperous future for us — it’s Everett’s time.” The announcement touted DeMaria’s efforts to “bring value to the city of Everett through extensive capital improvements, community involvement, and a commitment to safe, clean streets and housing.”
