Lynn

High schoolers to learn finance

Lynn Classical High School will be creating a financial literacy program for its students through a recent state grant. Lynn Classical was among 11 high schools in 10 Gateway City school districts that were awarded funds to develop financial literacy programs in the 2013-2014 school year. The first-year planning grants will be used by the school districts and their nonprofit partners to develop the literacy programs, which would then be implemented during the following school year. The state may provide money to help with the implementation. Lynn will be partnering with Metro Credit Union and Centerboard, a Lynn community organization. The grant was jointly awarded by the state treasurer’s office and the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.
