PTA honored for immigrant outreach

The East Somerville Community School’s Parent Teacher Association has received an award for its outreach and engagement efforts with the immigrant community. The PTA was awarded the first Intercultural City Award by the Welcome Project, a nonprofit agency that provides programs for immigrants and low-income residents in Somerville. The award was given on April 25 at Yum: Taste of Immigrant City, an annual fund-raiser for the Welcome Project.
