The Everett Cultural Council recently announced its award of 16 grants totaling $8,350 to support cultural programs in the city. The council each year receives funding from the Massachusetts Cultural Council, which it disburses through grants to artists, schools, agencies, and cultural organizations. The recent awards are for fiscal 2013. Grant recipients include the Delvena Theatre Company, the Everett Arts Association, Greater Boston Arc, Parlin Memorial Library, Mystic Valley Elder Services, and the Everett Adult Learning Center. The awards will fund programs ranging from a theater production on the Salem witchcraft hysteria and a puppet theater show to art exhibits and classes and an educational presentation on owls.
