City opens first dog park

Dogs now have a place they can call their own in Lynn. The city recently opened its first dog park on a formerly vacant site on Parkland Avenue across from Pine Grove Cemetery. The Barkland Avenue Dog Park is open daily from sunrise to sunset. To use the park, dog owners must obtain a dog park pass, which costs $25 per year, and complete a waiver form. All dogs must be at least six months old and have a current rabies vaccine certificate. The $40,000 cost of building the park was funded with the city’s federal Community Development Block Grant money and funding from the mayor’s office.
