Selectmen recently voted to grant all-alcoholic licenses to two restaurants planning to open in Northwest Park off the Middlesex Turnpike. Redstone American Grill, at 20 Third Ave., and The Bancroft, a steak house, at 15 Third Ave., are both being developed as part of 3rd Ave, an urban-style retail and restaurant center that will also include housing on Third Avenue and surrounding streets. The town secured special legislation in 2007 allowing it to issue eight all-alcoholic and two beer-and-wine licenses for Northwest Park only. Several months ago it awarded the first of those licenses, an all-alcoholic license for Kings restaurant and bowling alley, which plans to locate on Second Avenue as part of the new development.
