Library begins summer reading program

The public library is offering an adult summer reading program this summer. Open to people 18 and older, “Groundbreaking Reads” will include special presentations, prizes, and book discussions. The program will run from this Monday through Aug. 30. Each week, a participant will be selected to receive a gift certificate to a Lynn restaurant. Participants can enter the drawing by writing a book review and dropping it off at the library. The first 100 people to sign up for the reading program will receive a Groundbreaking Reads book bag. The bags and gift certificates have been donated by the Friends of the Lynn Public Library. This marks the second year the library has offered an adult summer program. It will run concurrently with the library’s summer children’s program, “Dig into Reading.” Both programs are being offered by participating libraries across the country through the Collaborative Summer Reading Program, a national consortium of libraries. For more information, call the library at 781-595-0567, or go to www.noblenet.org/lynn.
