Governor awards more funding to Amesbury

Governor Deval Patrick’s office recently announced that the state has agreed to provide Amesbury with additional funding under the Mass Works Infrastructure Grant program. A press release from Mayor Thatcher Kezer’s office did not list a dollar figure for the additional funding, which will be used to address the environmental remediation of 25 Water St., private land that the city intends to acquire for the proposed Lower Millyard Heritage Park. Under a different state program, the city was awarded $400,000 for the park in January.
