GlobeNorth: Players of the Week

Matt Burnham , Lynn Post 6: The 6-foot-2 righty hurled a one-hitter in a nine-inning scoreless tie against Newburyport Post 150. The rising sophomore at Indian Hills Community College (Iowa) struck out five and walked none in the shutout.

Tim Conroy , Medford Post 45: The southpaw threw a six-hitter against North Chelmsford Post 313 on July 7. With Post 45 down 2-0 in the seventh inning, the recent Arlington Catholic graduate singled and later scored the tying run in a three-run rally for a 3-2 win. He will continue his baseball career at Suffolk University next season.

Evan Eldridge , Danvers Post 180: The 6-foot-2 shortstop had to be on his toes consistently on Monday against Lynn. The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth-bound player recorded seven assists — including two on double plays — and two putouts. One ball after another was hit his way, but he committed no errors contributing to the 4-0 win.

Corey McNamara , Newburyport Post 150: In a scoreless tie against Lynn Post 6, the 6-foot righthander tossed a nine-inning complete game shutout. In his previous start, on June 29, the rising sophomore at Saint Joseph’s College of Maine fired a 1-0 shutout. Over the course of the two games, he gave up five hits and two walks and struck out 16 in 16 innings pitched.
