Library invites adults to raffles and other events

The Peabody Institute Library has a summer reading program for adults this year. Anyone 18 and older is invited to stop by the main library or the two branch buildings to check out adult books and enter a raffle to win one of three prizes: a Starbucks gift card, a Kindle Fire e-reader, or a pair of Red Sox tickets. The program began July 1 and will run through Aug. 12. Participants need only check out two books to be eligible for a raffle ticket. The program is running concurrently with the library’s teen and children’s summer reading programs. Meanwhile, the library has a new addition to its roster of book groups. The Fantasy and Science Fiction Book Club will begin July 23 when it discusses Neil Gaiman’s latest book, “The Ocean at the End of the Lane.” Limited copies are available at the library. For more information, call 978-531-0100, ext. 24.
