Playground equipment installed behind schedule


With the installation of new playground equipment completed, Aug. 29 has been set aside for an appreciation event for the Friends of Patton Park, which raised private funds to cover most of the $250,000 project. A time is still to be determined for the appreciation, which will be held at the playground. While workers completed the project last week, installation was supposed to be finished by July, said Town Manager Michael Lombardo, who informed contractor Probuilt Construction of Marshfield that the town plans to assess liquidated damages as specified in the town’s contract. “It’s a big project, but they knew what our expectations were,” he said.
