Town to welcome home two troops

The town is holding a welcome home ceremony Thursday for two Saugus residents, Joshua Pelletier and Lisa Meucci, who recently completed overseas military assignments. Pelletier is in the Army Reserves and Meucci is in the Army National Guard. Town Clerk Joanne Rappa, herself the mother of a Navy Reservist, for some years has been organizing ceremonies for Saugus residents returning from military deployments to recognize them and thank them for their service. For the past three years, she has been helped by the Saugus Military Families, a nonprofit she helped create in 2009 to provide assistance and support to Saugus residents serving in the military as well as their families back home. Thursday’s ceremony, open to all residents, will be held at 10 a.m. in the Town Hall auditorium.
