Organizers of a fund-raiser to benefit Jeff Bauman, a Chelmsford native who was injured in the Boston Marathon bombing, and Carlos Arredondo, the man credited with helping to save Bauman’s life, are seeking donations of various items for baskets that will be raffled off at the event, scheduled for Sept. 14 at the Westford American Legion. Proceeds from the fund-raiser, slated for 3 to 11 p.m., will be divided equally, with 50 percent allocated to Bauman’s medical bills and 50 percent to help with Arredondo’s living expenses. Bauman, who lost both of his legs in the bombing, has made significant progress in his recovery. The event is being organized by Jennifer Maybury, Bauman’s aunt. Tickets are available at $25 per person. To purchase a ticket or donate an item, contact Maybury at 978-256-5483 or by e-mail at Jenncole18@verizon.ne t.
