Green Day Recycling plans bicycle event

Green Day Recycling is scheduled to hold a bicycle recycling event from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Sept. 7, at Aldersgate United Methodist Church, 235 Park St. The organization will collect all kinds of bicycles, from racing and mountain bikes to BMX and children’s bicycles. The bicycles will be refurbished and sold at a deeply discounted price in Massachusetts or sent to Ghana, where they would be used as a primary means of transportation. For more information, contact Dennis Wood at 508-277-7513or denwaynewood@yahoo.com. “Why throw away your unused bicycle when it can be given new life and a new home,” said Wood, noting that residents from all towns are welcome to donate a bicycle.
