Thomas Zoppo named Bishop Fenwick principal

Bishop Fenwick High School has a new leader. Brother Thomas Zoppo was recently named principal of the coeducational Catholic school on Margin Street. Zoppo, the school’s ninth principal, was set to officially begin work last Tuesday. A De La Salle Christian brother originally from the Boston area, Zoppo had been president of Calvert Hall College High School in Baltimore since 2009. He has more than 30 years of administrative and teaching experience in Catholic secondary and collegiate settings, and has served extensively on boards of educational institutions and organizations. Zoppo has a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Villanova University and a master’s degree in school administration from Manhattan College. “We are thrilled that Brother Thomas Zoppo is taking the reins as Bishop Fenwick’s new principal,” Arthur Makar, president of the school’s board of trustees, said in a prepared statement. “He is joining the ranks of outstanding Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur and lay leaders who have led the school for over a half century. We are confident that his strength as an educator and financial acumen will help propel the school forward.”
