Flu vaccines offered for children

The Health Department will offer flu vaccines for children in kindergarten through Grade 12 from 2:30 to 4 p.m. Oct. 28 at Wilmington Middle School, 25 Carter Lane. The vaccine will be available by nasal spray and injection. It will be administered free of charge; appointments are required. Students must be accompanied by a parent unless the youth is 18 years or older and has proper identification. A second townwide flu clinic for all residents who are age 5 or older is scheduled from 9 a.m. to noon Nov. 2 at Town Hall, 121 Glen Road. Anyone who wishes to receive the flu vaccine is asked to bring his or her health insurance card to the clinic. For more information or to download a registration form, visit and click on the link to the flu clinics notice from the home page. Anyone who is allergic to eggs or egg products should not receive the flu vaccine, and anyone with a fever or acute illness should delay vaccination.
