Mike DiRaffaele, Melrose: The senior cocaptain ran for two scores and returned a fourth-quarter interception for a touchdown as the Red Raiders toppled Watertown, 33-13.

Nick Hoar, Shawsheen: The senior linebacker notched 11 tackles and returned an interception for a touchdown as the Rams upended Greater Lawrence, 48-20.

Dylan Owens, Stoneham: The senior threw a 20-yard touchdown to Aaron Louis for the Spartans’ first passing touchdown of the season; on defense, he also collected two interceptions in a 36-21 win over Burlington.

James Sullivan, Tewksbury: In a tremendous two-way effort, the junior ran for 113 yards and a touchdown while picking off three passes on defense as the Redmen rocked Methuen, 41-14.

Luke Surette, Saugus: With the game deadlocked with 10 seconds to go, the junior kicker booted a game-winning 27-yard field goal, lifting the Sachems to their first win of the season, 23-20 over North Reading.

Game of the week

St. John’s Prep at BC High, Friday, 7 p.m.: Johnathan Thomas (knee) is gone for the year, but the Eagles continue to pile on the points. Running back Cody Harwood stepped forward, scoring 36 of Prep’s 98 points in its last two games. But St. John’s has a difficult task ahead, going up against a BC High team that has allowed just 10 points per game.
