Musical chairs championship coming back

Tyngsborough Sports Center will host the upcoming Musical Chairs World Championship on Nov. 23, marking the event’s second year. Created by Fred Smith of Tyngsborough, the event launched in 2012 in Amesbury, with Mike Sugalski of Nashua beating out 1,500 competitors over nine hours to be crowned as the world champion. Participants ages 18 and older are invited to participate in this year’s competition, which is structured in March Madness-style brackets. Breaks are built into the day, which features live musical performances and other activities. Tickets are $35 per person, and teams of 12 or more are welcome.
