Newburyport Waterfront Trust appoints new manager

The Newburyport Waterfront Trust, a public trust that oversees land along the waterfront for the public good, has appointed Edith Heyck manager of Waterfront Park. Heyck is an award-winning graphic designer and artist with an interest in green living and municipal recreation. Waterfront Park includes land by the Firehouse Center for the Arts and a parking lot off Green Street, as well as parts of the boardwalk along the river. Heyck replaces author and inventor Charles Nichols, a former trustee who is retiring after 16 years of service to the Newburyport Waterfront Trust.
