Pumpkinfest celebration Sunday

Pumpkinfest, a community Halloween celebration, will be held Sunday from noon to 4 p.m. at the Samuel Gentile Recreation Center, 47 Elm St. Presented by the Recreation Department and Mayor Carlo DeMaria, the event will include a children’s costume parade at 12:45 p.m.; an award presentation for best children’s costumes, at 1; a children’s costume dance party, from 1:30 to 3; an adult pie-eating contest, at 1:30; and award presentations for an “Everett’s Best Pumpkin Pie” contest at 2. There will also be face painting and games. The event is free and no reservations are required.
