EPA chief to visit Gordon Monday

Gina McCarthy, administrator of the US Environmental Protection Agency, on Monday will visit Gordon College for “A Conversation With President Lindsay.” McCarthy, a Massachusetts native, was invited to Gordon to discuss the Christian college’s commitment to environmental affairs. Gordon president Michael Lindsay will lead the discussion, scheduled for 4:30 p.m. at MacDonald Auditorium. The event is free and open to the public. McCarthy will also tour the Ken Olsen Science Center at Gordon, and meet with students studying the natural sciences. McCarthy was appointed the nation’s environmental chief in July by President Obama. She is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts Boston and has a master’s degree in environmental health engineering and policy from Tufts University in Medford.
