Special Town Meeting to discuss 17 articles

Residents in Hamilton will hold a Special Town Meeting on Monday and residents of Wenham will hold a Special Town Meeting on Tuesday. Among 17 articles on the warrant for Hamilton is one seeking $2.5 million in Community Preservation Act funds for replacement of the pool at Patton Park. There are also four articles on the warrants for both towns seeking a total of $3.475 million for repairs at the Winthrop and Buker elementary schools in the Hamilton-Wenham Regional School District, requiring debt exclusion overrides of Proposition 2½. Those articles will require a two-thirds majority vote, in addition to passage at special elections scheduled on Nov. 21 (Hamilton) and Dec. 12 (Wenham). The Hamilton meeting begins at 7 p.m. at Hamilton-Wenham Regional High School, Bay Road, Hamilton, and the Wenham meeting begins at 7:30 p.m. at the Buker School, School Street, Wenham.
