Bridget Brigade Foundation holding benefit bash

The Bridget Brigade Foundation is scheduled to hold its fourth annual Bridget Brigade Bash to benefit critically ill children and their families. The event will take place from 7 to 11 p.m. Dec. 7 at Town Hall, 71 Mount Vernon St. The fund-raiser will include cocktails, hors d'oeuvres, live music, and raffle and auction items. Tickets are $75 per person (beer and wine included) and are available at An Elegant Affair, Book Ends, Kids Footstop, and www.bridgetbrigade.org/index.php. The Bridget Brigade Foundation began several years ago when longtime Winchester residents John and Dianne Dobbins began a holiday toy drive to honor their daughter, Bridget, who died from childhood cancer. The foundation is a public charity providing financial support to Massachusetts families struggling to care for a critically ill child. Thanks to the generosity of several organizations, event sponsors, and hundreds of local residents and family friends, the foundation has raised nearly $100,000 and collected thousands of gifts for sick children. In addition to helping families financially, the foundation has assisted local hospitals, including Winchester Hospital, with projects and equipment for their pediatric units.
