The Malden public schools are discussing a potential partnership with Salem State University that could include a satellite campus at Salemwood School. School Superintendent David DeRuosi told the city’s School Committee about the plan in a meeting last month. DeRuosi also told the committee that a partnership with the university could make the School Department eligible for a five-year grant from the Department of Labor to be used on science, technology, engineering, and mathematics programs. Malden High School reached a memorandum of understanding with Salem State, but no official deal to bring a satellite campus to the city has been reached, according to the School Department.
