Indoor golf center, restaurant open on West Main Street

An indoor golf center and 70-seat restaurant has opened at 206 West Main St. (Route 97) a location previously occupied by several different restaurants, most recently Coach’s Rock Pond Pub. Father and son Terry and Brandon Clifford of Groveland will run Par 97, which features seven golf simulators and other high-end golf training tools. Similar indoor golf centers have operated successfully in other parts of the United States and Canada, said Brandon Clifford, who with his father also owns Café 97 and Pub 97, both on Route 97 in Groveland. “We’ve always thought this was too big for just a restaurant,” said Clifford, whose facility had a soft opening in January and will host an official grand opening on Feb. 22.
