Joe Bertrand , Saugus: The 6-foot-5 senior captain surpassed 1,000 career points with his 30-point effort in a 62-54 loss to North Reading on Monday.

David Giribaldi , Andover: In a 67-47 win over Lawrence on Tuesday, the junior guard recorded a season-high 34 points. He also had a game-high 23 points in a 59-45 win over North Andover Feb. 7.

Hannah Kiernan , Masconomet: In helping the Chieftains secure their first Cape Ann League title since 2008, the senior guard tallied a game-high 24 points, along with six rebounds and three steals in Monday’s 56-48 win over Newburyport.

Kelsi McNamara , Pentucket: In a thrilling triple-overtime win over North Reading on Feb. 7, the junior point guard poured in a career-high 32 points, punctuated by her game-tying 3-pointer in the closing seconds to force the third OT.

Alexi Schecter , Lowell: The 6-2 sophomore forward put together a monster night with 26 points, 21 rebounds, and five blocks in Tuesday’s 61-52 victory over Methuen.

Lynn English boys at St. John’s Prep, Sunday, 7:15 p.m.:

Two of the state’s top powers clash for the first time this season. The visiting Bulldogs are led by senior guard Freddie Hogan. Junior guards Kareem Davis and Bed Judson power the Eagles, who lost 63-60 to Catholic Conference rival Central Catholic last Sunday.
