Medford limits parking due to snow piles

Large snow piles have narrowed city streets, prompting Police Chief Leo Sacco to order a partial parking ban for the next month.

Parking will only be allowed on the odd-numbered side of city streets. The step is necessary to ensure public safety, the city said in a prepared statement. Sacco could not be reached for further comment.

Fire trucks, ambulances, and sanders have been unable to travel on many streets because of the snow piles, the city said.

Vehicles parked on the even-numbered side of a street may be ticketed or towed if they are found to impede traffic flow.
