Hospital announces plan for $72 million expansion

Lawrence General Hospital has announced plans for a $72 million expansion, the largest capital investment in the organization’s history. The master plan includes construction of a new 42,250-square-foot surgical building as well as 25,600 square feet of inpatient facility renovations. Additional private patient rooms, family support rooms, and waiting areas will be incorporated into the project, which will take several years to complete. Hospital surgeons will also be able to perform more complicated procedures locally with upgraded technology and infrastructure, while patients will benefit from new preoperative and postoperative space. In addition to the Lawrence expansion, the hospital will also be opening the new 30,000-square-foot Andover Medical Center in partnership with Pentucket Medical Associates later this year.
