Town identifies budget goals

As Town Administrator Tracy Blais begins to craft the budget for fiscal year 2015, selectmen have identified their budget goals. Those include reinstating public safety funding to whatever level capable, reinstating human service funding, exploring options for a new/updated Police Department facility (a process currently underway), purchasing a fire pumper, executing elementary school lease agreements, and creating a comprehensive road improvement program. On another matter, selectmen have voted to approve a three-year lease with the nonprofit Byfield Community Arts Center.
