Patriot Care Corp. is scheduled to open a medical marijuana dispensary in Lowell’s Industrial Avenue neighborhood on Tuesday.
It will offer a range of products, including four to six different strains of medical marijuana, at its 6,000-square-foot dispensary at 70 Industrial Ave. East, according to Patriot Care spokesman Dennis Kunian. The facility will be open seven days a week, with no appointment necessary.
“Our mission is to provide our patients with the best assortment and quality of marijuana for medical use to alleviate their pain and suffering,” said Patriot Care CEO Robert Mayerson. “It’s a common mission throughout the markets that we’re in.”
Patriot Care is part of Columbia Care LLC, which operates dispensaries in several other states, including Illinois, New York, and Arizona. In Washington, D.C., the company goes by the name Capital City Care.
Here in Massachusetts, Patriot Care plans to open dispensaries in Boston and Greenfield by late spring or early summer. The company has a cultivation facility in Lowell, not far from the dispensary.
“We’re eager to open and start serving patients in Massachusetts,” Mayerson said.
Patriot Care will be the second dispensary to open in Middlesex County; Central Ave Compassionate Care, Inc. operates a facility in Ayer. Statewide, there are four facilities currently dispensing marijuana for medical use. The others are in Salem, Brockton, and North Hampton, according to the Massachusetts Executive Office of Health and Human Services.
