NECC’s summer program moves to Windham, N.H.

Northern Essex Community College’s STEM College for Kids summer program has moved to the college’s new affiliate location, the Quarrybrook Outdoor Learning Center in Windham, N.H.

The new locale, on 245 acres of natural space, includes trails, vernal pools, and historical artifacts, and allows for new course offerings like healthy hiking, nature drawing, environmental testing, and spa science.

Transportation to and from Quarrybrook will be available from NECC’s Riverwalk location at 365 Merrimack St. for full-time students at a cost of $25 per week. STEM College for Kids will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays, offering programs for youths 9 to 11 (juniors) and 12 to 14 (seniors). Four one-week programs are being offered, with costs ranging from $75 to $225 per week, depending on the courses selected.
