Eighth graders at Beverly’s Glen Urquhart School presented art pieces as part of a collection entitled “The White Shirt Project” on Jan. 26. The exhibition is a culmination of nearly an entire school year’s worth of research and creation, which began in the fall after the eighth graders visited the Museum of Modern Art in New York. Each student chose a modern artist to research, and produced a paper on the artist’s contribution to society. In addition to the paper, the students were given a white T-shirt and asked to incorporate it into a mixed-media art piece, which was displayed to the school community. The White Shirt Project will be on display through the first week of March.
