Malden officials to tour planned assisted living complex
The owners of a planned assisted living residence in Malden will be giving city leaders a glimpse of its future facilities on Forest Street June 14. The nonprofit Volunteers of America Massachusetts is in the midst of the $28 million conversion of the former city-run McFadden Manor Nursing Home into an 80-apartment senior rental community to be known as Forestdale Park. The project began in July 2016 and is expected to be completed early next year. Located next to the Forestdale School, the facility will include 59 traditional assisted living apartments, 18 “memory support” apartments, and three independent living units accommodating 86 residents in all, according to Dinah Olanoff, executive director of Forestdale Park. The facility, expected to employ approximately 60 full- and part-time workers, will be managed by Senior Living Residences of Braintree. For information, e-mail email@example.com.
