The Lynn Community Health Center will soon have a new leader for the first time in two decades. The board of directors recently announced that Dr. Kiame Mahaniah, currently the center’s chief medical officer, will become its new chief executive officer. Mahaniah will succeed Lori Abrams Berry, who is retiring after 20 years as the center’s CEO. Established in 1971, the center is the largest provider of primary care services in Lynn, serving more than 40,000 people annually. Prior to assuming his current position in 2015, Mahaniah was chief medical officer at North Shore Community Health in Salem for nearly five years. “My lifelong passion has been the pursuit of social justice while working in underserved communities,” Mahaniah said in a prepared statement.
