Everett readies for Village Fest

Area residents can enjoy a variety of entertainment, food, and drinks when Everett holds its annual Village Fest on Sept. 23. The outdoor event, free and open to all, will be held from 3 to 9 p.m. in the city’s Village Business District along Santilli Highway. Now in its third year, the festival is a joint initiative of the city, Wynn Resorts — which is building a $2.4 billion resort casino on the banks of the Mystic River in Everett — and the Craft Brewers Guild. This year’s festival will feature George Clinton and Parliament Funkadelic, along with a number of local bands. Food trucks will be on hand offering Asian, Mexican, Middle Eastern, and barbecue along with homemade ice cream, as well as beer and other alcoholic beverages. The rain or shine festival also will feature lawn games and vendor booths showcasing local businesses and organizations.
