DARE returns to Groveland’s Bagnall School

Chief Jeffrey Gillen says the Groveland Police Department is returning its Drug Abuse Resistance Education (DARE) program to the Bagnall Elementary School to help prepare students to make responsible decisions. The program was at the Bagnall from 1993 until 2006, when it was stopped because of lack of funding. “We wanted to bring the DARE program back to the Bagnall School because the Groveland Police Department is committed to fostering a strong relationship between students and police officers, and our goal is to help students make responsible decisions throughout their lives," Gillen said. In January, Detective Josh Sindoni, who also serves as the school resource officer, will be visiting students in first through sixth grades once a week as part of the DARE initiative.
