Katie Theoharides, the state’s assistant secretary of climate change, will deliver the keynote address at the fifth annual Great Marsh Sea Level Rise Symposium from 8:30 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 9, at Woodman’s of Essex, 121 Main St., Essex. Sponsored by the Great Marsh Coalition, this year’s event is titled “Great Marsh Resiliency: Putting the Plan into Action,” and will bring together state, regional, and local stakeholders for updates on projects and developments. Theoharides will speak about climate adaptation planning in Massachusetts, and experts will present a summary of the Great Marsh Community Planning Project, along with a panel discussion of strategies and case studies on increasing the marsh’s resiliency. The public is welcome, and can register online for $20 (including lunch) at greatmarsh.org until noon on Nov. 8 or pay at the door.
