    New Somerville High construction will affect parking

    With construction of the new Somerville High School set to begin in January, city officials are holding a public meeting on Monday, Nov. 27, to inform residents about gradual changes to parking that are coming to the campus and surrounding streets because of the project. At the session, set for 6:30 p.m. in the high school library, 81 Highland Ave., representatives of the city will discuss the upcoming parking changes, which will result in the eventual loss of most of the existing spaces used by employees and patrons on the campus that includes City Hall, the high school, and the public library. The city commissioned a study looked at new parking strategies while also being mindful of the impact of street parking on neighboring residents. The study’s executive summary is available at
