Selectmen have approved increasing the residential property tax rate in Rowley by 3 percent, effective Jan. 1. Based on the new rate of $14.58 per $1,000, the owner of an average single-family home valued at $429,749 will pay $6,265 in fiscal 2018, an increase of $238. Residents are encouraged to get a copy of their home assessment at the assessor’s office at Town Hall to ensure accurate representation of their property. The appeal period, when homeowners can file to have a change made to their assessment, runs from Jan. 1 to Feb. 1.
