Rowley nursing home reaches deal with state
Sea View Retreat and MassHealth have reached an agreement on a payment plan to address the Rowley nursing facility’s user fee requirements. Sea View will remain open and can accept new patients during the payment plan. Massachusetts law requires skilled nursing facilities to pay a user fee that supports Medicaid received by nursing facilities. Because Sea View had not paid the user fee in more than a year, in February state officials placed a freeze on new admissions. “Sea View has come to an agreement with the Commonwealth of Mass. and is on a payment plan for the next five to six years to pay the ‘user fees,’ because this is really the only option we have to ensure that our residents and staff remain protected from our ongoing battle with the powers that be,” stated Steve Comley II, administrator/owner.
