Town manager finalists to be named, interviewed

The Town Council will interview four finalists for the town manager job during a marathon session on Nov. 17. The meeting will be open to the public and will be recorded and aired on local cable television. Councilors will be given the list of finalists at their upcoming meeting Tuesday, according to council president Kristy Colon, who served on the council’s search committee. Colon said some 30 candidates applied for the position, and consultants whittled the list down to 13 resumes,  which were turned over to the search committee for review. “We interviewed nine of those and narrowed it to four finalists,” Colon said. The town has operated with an interim town manager since April,  when Town Manager Troy Clarkson resigned to take a similar job in Hanover. Colon said she hopes the new town manager will be able to start work next month.
