Eateries accept punishment for alcohol violation

A week after selectmen issued a five-day suspension of the liquor license of Bar Louie Tavern & Grill in Patriot Place, board members have sanctioned three other area establishments that admitted to serving alcohol to a 19-year-old during a well-publicized Sept. 27 compliance check by police. Caught in the trap were CBS Scene Restaurant at Patriot Place; Foxboro Mandarin in Foxfield Plaza; and Blue Fin Lounge at Patriot Place. All three agreed voluntarily to briefly shut off alcohol service early as punishment. CBS will stop serving alcohol at 10:30 p.m. this Sunday through Wednesday, while Foxboro Mandarin and Blue Fin will each refrain from serving alcohol Dec. 5 from 6 p.m. to closing. A hearing for Waxy O’Connors, at 121 Main St., has been postponed until Jan. 8, officials said.
