    Solar array delayed

Plans to have a solar array installed on Scituate’s capped landfill by December have been pushed back, and engineers now plan to have the green energy facility up and running by June. According to the director of the Department of Public Works, Albert Bangert, the start of construction has been continually pushed back for minor reasons. The solar array must be installed by June 15, however, or Brightfields Development LLC, the solar company in charge of its installation and operation, will have to pay the town a penalty of $300 a day. The company now is working with that June deadline in mind, conducting final financial preparations before construction begins. According to Bangert, Brightfields can work through the winter, and it will take approximately three months to finish construction.
