State gives $124k for water quality controls

The state Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs has granted Duxbury $124,115 to construct three systems to capture and filter storm water flowing into Kingston Bay along Bay Road, in an effort to improve coastal water quality. If the water quality improves, shellfish beds that had been polluted by contaminated runoff may be allowed to reopen. Duxbury will contribute $41,372 to the project.
