Duxbury’s preliminary budget is $65.2 million for the fiscal year that begins next July, up around 2.8 percent from this year, and the average single-family tax bill is projected to jump almost 3.5 percent. The town expects to hire a facilities manager and one or two emergency call dispatchers, Town Manager Richard MacDonald told selectmen. Nearly 81 percent of the town’s revenue comes from taxes, with another 9 percent from state aid and around 11 percent from fees, licenses, permits, and crematory revenue. The proposed tax rate for next year is $14.19 per $1,000 of assessed value, up from $13.79. There is a single rate for residential and commercial properties.
