Tilted Kilt’s hearing postponed

A hearing sheduled for last Wednesday on the Tilted Kilt Pub & Eatery’s application for a liquor license in Quincy has been postponed and will be rescheduled at a later date, officials said. The city’s licensing board in July approved a liquor license for the Scottish-themed pub, which features waitresses in short plaid skirts and bras. But the applicant realized it had not notified St. John the Baptist Parish, which is 450 feet from the proposed establishment on the Parkingway. According to rules of the state’s Alcoholic Beverages Control Commission, churches and schools within 500 feet need to be notified of any establishment planning to sell alcohol. In late August, the licensing board denied the license, prompting an appeal by the company.
