Longtime selectman to step down

Derek Maksy announced he won't seek reelection when his term as selectman expires in spring. "Two terms is enough for me as selectman," Maksy said. "I'm a believer in self-imposed term limits. I like to see new blood and new ideas." Maksy has served on several boards and committees over the last 25 years, but hasn't decided what he’ll do next. He said he may focus, at least for now, on the local golf course he purchased last year. Nomination papers for the April annual election are available in the town clerk's office.
