Mitra K. Shavarini, lecturer at Brandeis University in peace, conflict and coexistence studies and women’s and gender studies, will present her latest book, “Desert Roots: Journey of an Iranian Immigrant Family,” at the Duxbury Free Library on Jan. 6 at 2 p.m. The program is cosponsored by the library, at 77 Alden St., and Westwinds Bookshop. Books will be available for signing.
